GENERAL INFORMATION

Any member in good standing has the privilege of introducing, as a guest of the Club, a person residing within 50 miles of the Oneonta Country Club, but shall not introduce the same person more than once during the same calendar year. No such person shall be a guest at the Club more than two times during the same calendar year. (A list of those persons who have been guests will be available in the Golf Shop for reference.) Persons residing more that 50 miles from the Oneonta Country Club may play five (5) times a year, excluding Member-Guest participation. All guests must register in the Golf Shop before starting play.

DRESS CODE

All golfers are required to use good taste and dress appropriately for the golf course. Items of clothing such as short-shorts, cut-offs, running shorts, tennis outfits, bathing suits, health shirts, tank tops, and bare feet are considered inappropriate. Men’s shirts must have a collar. Tee shirts are not allowed. Shorts for both men and women should be approximately “Bermuda length”, which is not greater that four inches above the knee. No denim clothing (example-blue jeans) is permitted between May 15th and October 1st. These policies will be enforced by the professional staff, as directed by the Board of Directors. Anyone who is inappropriately dressed will not be permitted to use any of the golf facilities, including the putting green and practice area.

All footwear worn on the golf course, practice areas, and clubhouse (where allowed) MUST BE SPIKELESS OR SOFT SPIKES.  Please inform guest and allow time for any spike replacement that the bag boy or assistant must perform. Because spike less shoes may not provide good traction on some surfaces, care must be exercised on grass, wet areas, wood, tile, bridges, and other surfaces

Vulgar language and /or behavior are both inconsiderate and offensive. Members shall, therefore conduct themselves in a manner which is respectful of the sensitivities of others. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of Club privileges.

LOCAL PLAYING RULES

Tee times are available for all golfers at all times, except when the course is reserved for league play and special events.

Dependent children (under 16 years of age) of members having the privilege of the Club must be accompanied by an adult and many not commence play prior to 6:30 p.m. Players who are under 16 years of age will not operate golf carts. Players over 16 may operate golf carts only with a valid driver’s license or adult supervision.

A Junior Golfer who has demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Resident Professional the ability to play at the pace of a reasonable skilled golfer and is knowledgeable of the rules and etiquette of golf will, upon payment of a Family Membership, be entitled to use the golf course, except for those restrictions which normally apply to regular members. He or she will not be a member of the MGA or WGA, and may not participate in any tournaments or Stag Day events sponsored by the Club. Junior Members, who have reached the age of 16 by the qualifying date of the Club Championship and President’s Cup tournaments, are eligible to participate in those two tournaments. Junior golfers are subject to the same cart charges as regular members.

Between the dates of May 1st and October 15th, no more than four players will be allowed in any group. Exceptions may be granted by the professional staff of the Golf Shop. When additional golfers are permitted, they must allow groups of four or fewer players to play through.

Between the dates of May 1st and October 15th, the holes of the course must be played in proper sequence at all times. When play is permitted in nonstandard sequence exclusive of these dates, priority will be given to those playing the course in standard sequence.
